Private Tai Chi Lessons in New York City

Personalized One-on-One Tai Chi Training

Private Tai Chi lessons offer a more personal way to learn—at your own pace, with instruction tailored to your body, experience, and goals.

Whether you are new to Tai Chi, looking to improve balance and mobility, returning to movement after an injury, or simply seeking a practice that helps you move with greater ease and awareness, each lesson is adapted to meet you where you are.

Drawing on my experience in traditional Tai Chi, Qigong, personal training, senior fitness, and corrective exercise, I help each student develop a practice that is both practical and deeply personal.

Private lessons are available in Manhattan and Secaucus, New Jersey.

Who Are Private Tai Chi Lessons For?

Private Tai Chi instruction can be especially helpful if you:

  • Are completely new to Tai Chi and want individual guidance from the beginning

  • Want to improve balance, coordination, posture, mobility, and body awareness

  • Prefer learning at your own pace rather than keeping up with a group class

  • Are an older adult looking for a gentle but meaningful movement practice

  • Have physical limitations that require movements to be carefully adapted

  • Want to deepen an existing Tai Chi practice and better understand the principles behind the movements

  • Are interested in Tai Chi not only as exercise, but as a lifelong practice for cultivating awareness, relaxation, and more efficient movement

I have also worked with students living with a wide range of physical challenges and health conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, stroke recovery, and fibromyalgia. When appropriate, Tai Chi practice can be adapted to a student’s individual abilities and limitations. Private Tai Chi instruction is not a substitute for medical care or physical therapy.

You do not need previous Tai Chi experience, exceptional flexibility, or athletic ability to begin.

The practice is adapted to you—not the other way around.

My Teaching Philosophy

Before becoming a Tai Chi teacher, I spent years working in high finance, where I learned that complex problems rarely have one-size-fits-all solutions.

Later, through my training as a Certified Personal Trainer, Senior Fitness Specialist, and Corrective Exercise Specialist, I came to understand how differently each person moves, learns, and responds to exercise. Everyone comes with a different body, different experiences, and different needs.

That understanding became the foundation of my teaching. Rather than asking every student to fit into the same method, I adapt the method to the student.
